Comprehensive Master Plan
2022 Comprehensive Plan Update
The next public workshop will be in person on March 26th at the Southampton Cultural Center at 10:00 am. All are welcome.
Southampton’s Comprehensive Plan is a “blueprint” for the Village. It provides community-established principles for the orderly and balanced future economic, social, physical, environmental, and fiscal development. The document is not a law or regulation, but it provides guidance to elected officials and decision-makers when they make land use, zoning, and capital investment decisions.
The Comprehensive Plan relies heavily on community outreach, stakeholder interviews, and existing plans and studies completed by the Village and other agencies. The Village’s prior Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2000. This Comprehensive Plan Update represents the Village’s continuing effort to ensure that its planning policies and land use goals and objectives remain current and reflect the issues affecting Southampton Village.
As part of the community engagement process, the Village hosted the first of two public workshops on October 27, 2021. A video of the meeting and the summary notes can be accessed at the links below. A second public workshop will be held on March 26th at the Southampton Cultural Center at 10 am.
An online public survey was released to gather public input regarding priorities for future improvements and key issues for the Village. The survey included an “Ideas Wall” visioning exercise, where participants were invited to post open-ended comments.
